《使节》男主人公话语中的转述动词研究

Researches on Reporting Verbs in Protagonist's Discourse of The Ambassadors

转述动词是直接引语与间接引语中的重要成分。直接引语与间接引语是构成小说人物语言的核心内容。借助语言学和叙事学的相关理论来分析《使节》男主人公语言中的转述动词。通过研究发现,转述动词在小说中发挥着重要的作用:转述动词提供了信息的来源并通过这些转述动词生动地展现人物内心世界,由此可以帮助我们挖掘更深层次的文化内涵。

Reporting verbs are important parts of direct discourse（DD）and indirect discourse（ID）.DD and ID comprise the core part of the characters＇ discourses.This paper tries to analyze the protagonist＇ s discourse in The Ambassadors by employing relative theory of discourse representation in linguistics and narratology.We find that these reporting verbs play a vital role in the novel in offering the source of information to reveal characters＇ inner world vividly which enables us to dig out the embedding culture connotation in the novel.
