The paper analyzes the definition and the evolution of the International Energy System.In the 20th Century, Middle East moved from outside to the very inside of the International Energy System, and finally became the core part of International System. In the 21st century, the International Energy System shows up some new characters, the Shale Gas Revolution occurred in the United States increases its energy production, the Middle East＇s power in the International Energy System is decline, but it still remain important.
