The Reformation and Fluctuation of Chinese Librarianship in the First Three Decades of PRC

新中国成立至改革开放近三十年中,我国图书馆事业在探索与迷茫中蹒跚而行,经历了一个变革、发展与反复的历史时期。尽管公共图书馆、高校图书馆、科学图书馆、工会图书馆等各种类型的图书馆事业建设均取得了长足进展,但是在意识形态、阶级斗争、群众路线与政治运动的支配下,图书馆理念、图书馆学研究与图书馆学教育等出现了不容掩饰的停滞与倒退。分析其在重大转折中的特质、成就及原因,探讨其在建设过程中的挫折、误区与教训,无疑是确保我国图书馆事业健康发展不可或缺的重要因素。

In nearly thirty years from the founding of new China to the reform and opening up, the librarianship stumbled in the exploration, which had experienced a change, development and repeated historical process. Although the construction of pub- lic library, university library, science library, union library and other types of libraries have made considerable progress, there is stagnation and retrogression in the library philosophy, study of library science and education of library science under the influence of ideology, class struggle, the mass line and political movement. To ensure the healthy development of librarianship in China, it is important and indispensable to discuss the frustration, mistakes and lessons in the process of its construction by analyzing the charac- teristics, achievement and cause in its major tuming.
