National Major Projects for Soil and Water Conservation in Hebei Province:review and prospect

河北省国家水土保持重点建设工程实施30年来,完成国家投资55 469万元,治理水土流失面积9 307 km2,取得了显著的生态、经济和社会效益。1983—2002年在张家口市永定河流域上游9个县4个区分两期实施,每期10年。从2003年,国家水土保持重点建设工程调整到太行山区,涉及4个市的10个县,到2012年已实施两期,每期5年。回顾了前四期工程建设做法与成效,对2013年启动的第五期工程提出了建设思路。

Since the implementation of National Major Projects for Soil and Water Conservation in Hebei Province, a total of 554.69 million yuan of national investment has been completed and 9307 kin2 of eroded land has been managed, resulting in remarkable ecological, economic and social benefits. From 1983 to 2002, the project including 9 counties and 4 sub-districts in the upstream of Yongding River Basin was implemented in two phases that divided by 10 for each phase. Since 2003, the project area of National Major Projects for Soil and Water Conservation was moved to Taihang Mountainous areas, covering 10 counties in 4 cities. Until 2012, two phases had been completed and each one lasted for 5 years. The practice and achievement of the projects during the last four phases are reviewed. Recommendations are made to the phase--V project initiated in 2013.
