与西方近代科学不同,中国古代科学具有别样的形态与内涵。西方近代科学大厦无"人"居住,它拒绝"人",不特别关注人的因素,也不对人类的行为作出价值规束,它远离生活世界,终于放逐人类至无家可归的境地。中国古代科学体系"人"难离席,它接纳"人",格外关注人的因素,更为人们确立了顺天应地的行为准则,它关系本真生活,曾安顿人们以安居于乡的状态。概而言之,西方近代科学聚焦于物,而中国古代科学向来包含对人的关怀。

Distincted from western modern science, ancient Chinese science has its own forms and connotations. Western modern science does not include men, pays little attention to men, and fails to provide the value standards {or human acts. It is so away from the life-world that the mankind has become ＂homeless＂. In contrast, ancient Chinese science includes men, pays attention to men, and establishes the codes of conduct so that men could live harmoniously with the nature. It follows the original and true lifestyle so that men could live a simple household life. In a word, western modern science is focused on matters while ancient Chinese science gives priority to the care of men.
