Thoughts on Economic Development and Target of Beilun District in the 10th 5-year Plan

“十五”期间整个北仑区域经济的发展应当定位为“以港区经济和外向型经济为主要特征的，宁波乃至华东地区经济最富活力的区域之一”，而北仑区则作为“港区经济的必要组成部分和有力保障”，发展目标为２００５年提前基本实现农业农村现代化。为实现这一目标，应从以下五方面突破：推动”三外”工作；加强区域合作；加快城镇建设；促进科技进步；发展新兴三产。

During the 10th 5-year Plan, the economic development of Beilun district is as: one of the most powerful economic areas in Ningbo area as well as eastern China based on the centre of port and foreign economy. Beilun district is an indispensable part of the port economy.The target of the development is to realize modernzation of agriculture in 2005. To realize the target, the main measures are: 1) to promote samwai; 2) to strengthen regional cooperation; 3) to quicken urbanization;4)to promote the progress in science and technology; 5) to develop service industry.
