The debates about world literature in the international academic community of comparative literature have greatly expanded the conception of world literature, contribu- ting to a poly-world literature discourse. Contemporary research on world literature has sur- passed the traditional research contents and methods. Instead, it focuses on the practical forms of world literature in the period of globalization and renewal of its research methods. The researches of Damrosch, Moretti and other scholars reflect new patterns and new meth- ods of world literature studies. The context of globalization makes the relationship between world literature and comparative literature more intimate. The updating the conception of world literature and the expanding its research pattern contain many factors of comparative literature. Meanwhile, the progress in world literature research offers comparative literature great inspirations. One of the most important inspirations is the ontological awareness of literature and the awareness of comparative poetics.
