民间文学不仅是古代人的心灵构造,对现代人的心灵成长也具有重要的功能。在现代,民间文学这一古旧的艺术样式,是思想敏锐、目光远大的作家和学者所珍视的思想和艺术的资源。民间文学是儿童文学的源流之一,它在儿童文学的起源和发展中发挥了极其重要的作用。先行者们对儿童文学的最初想像大多是以民间文学为原型的。但是,古代民间文学并不就是儿童文学,民间文学要成为儿童文学,一定要经过思想和艺术方面的现代性转化。

Folk literature is not only the ancient structure of the human mind,and also has the important function for the spiritual growth of the modern people. In the modern,folk literature,as an old art style,is a kind of ideas and art resources which are cherished by writers and scholars who have sharp thinking and vision. Folk literature is one of the origins of children＇s literature, which has played an extremely important role in the origin and development of children＇s literature. Pioneers＇ image of children＇s literature is mostly based on folk literature, however, ancient folk literature is not children＇s literature, it must go through the ideological and artistic aspects of modern transformation to children＇s literature.
