中国学术组织的可持续发展——《营销科学学报》的案例研究

Sustainable Development of Academic Organizations in China: A Case Study of the“Journal of Marketing Science”

学术组织对构建中国转型期的学术发展非常重要。近年来,国内涌现出一批新兴学术组织,它们相对于传统的学术期刊显示出了一定的竞争优势。为了研究这些新兴学术组织如何实现可持续发展,本文整合了战略创业与制度创新的视角,以《营销科学学报》为案例进行了探索性研究并发现:在中国转型期,学术组织的可持续发展是具有创业精神的学者在战略创业理念指导下进行内外部资源优化配置、制度创新和协调发展的动态过程,它包括四个关键要素:以学术创业者为核心的内部资源配置是学术组织发展的硬核;组织内部制度确定了内部资源配置的运作方式和效率;学术组织利益相关者提供的外部资源起到了支持作用;外部制度合法性获取强化了学术组织在市场中的合法性并促进了其内外部资源的进一步获取。本文在上述案例研究基础上发展了一个动态整合框架,以解释中国转型期创业型学术组织持续发展的内在机制,并对相关的理论发展进行了展望。

Academic organizations are very important to the development of academic research in the transitional period of China.In recent years,a bunch of new entrepreneurial academic organizations have emerged and gradually gained a competitive advantage over traditional academic journals.In order to find out how these new academic organizations have achieved sustainable development,this paper conducts an exploratory case study into'Journal of Marketing Science'by integrating strategic entrepreneurship with institutional innovation.We find that the development of academic organizations is a dynamic process of the optimization of both internal and external resources,institutional innovation and coordinated development,which is under the guidance of strategic entrepreneurship by academics.The process comprises four key elements:internal resource deployment,with academic entrepreneurs as the kernel,is the hard core of academic organizational development;internal institutions determine the works and efficiency of internal resources allocation;external resources offered by stakeholders of academic organizations play a role of support;and the acquisition of external institutional legitimacy further strengthens the legitimacy of academic organizations in the market and enables the organizations to acquire more internal and external resources in the future.In the end,based on the analysis of the case,we developed a dynamic and integrative framework to explain the internal mechanism of the sustainable development of entrepreneurial academic organizations in the Chinese transitional context.
