Teaching Strategies and Curriculum Design of ESP in Higher Vocational Colleges

高职教育的宗旨是培养应用型专门人才。为满足社会及个体性需求,高职院校英语课程不仅要帮助学生打好语言基础,更要培养学生使用英语处理日常事务的能力。在此,从分析高职院校英语教学的现状入手,提出了专门用途英语教学四点改进策略,即从双向需求分析入手,选择具有时代特色的教材,改变传统教学模式,加强教师队伍建设。从教学目标,教学方法和教学内容等三个方面详细阐述了专门用途英语课程设计的新理念。

Higher Vocational Education aims at cultivating applicable professional talents. In order to satisfy the requirement of society and individuals, English curriculum in higher vocational colleges should not only help students lay a good foundation of language, but also cultivate their ability in dealing with daily business in English. Therefore, this paper starts from analyzing the present condition of English teaching in higher vocational colleges, and puts forward four improving strategies of ESP teaching. It should analyze the mutual requirements, choose teaching materials with times characteristics, improve traditional teaching mode and strengthen the construction of teaching staff. It discusses the new concept of ESP curriculum design from three aspects, including teaching goal, teaching methods and teaching content.
