Exploratory On the Retention of Students in Distance Open Education: Based on A Case Study in Inner Mongolia Radio & TV University

辍学率高一直是困扰国际远程开放教育领域的共性问题之一,随着学界从dropout(辍学)到retention(保持)的研究视角和态度的变化,如何有效提高学生保持率成为亟待破解的重要课题。积极主动采取外部的及时、有效的全程性干预服务、找出巩固学生学业的方法和措施无疑是预防学生辍学发生、促进远程开放教育可持续发展的重要保证。

High dropout rate has been a common problem in the distance open education in the world. As research focus in academia change from dropout to retention, how to effectively boost students＇ retention rate has become a pressing subject. Providing timely and effective intervention serv- ice during the whole academic process and finding the methods and measures to consolidate the achievement are the ways to prevent students from dropping out and promote the sustainable development of distance open education.
