This paper insists that Whitehead’s Process Philosophy or Organic Philosophy has a special viewpoint of philosophy,in that Whitehead thinks that his philosophy is a kind of cosmology and his cosmology is devoted to having a comprehensive research and explanation to the world;meanwhile he insists that his philosophy is a kind of metaphysics based on modern sciences,and he tries to rebuild a process system of metaphysics in a new era and have an explanation to the actual world by a series of process metaphysical concepts and categories.Whitehead holds that the main themes of philosophy are focused on general principles and that the philosophical success is to provide general ideas.Also Whitehead puts forward a special viewpoint that philosophy is at progress gradually since Plato and criticizes the shortcomings of traditional philosophy for its exaggeration of rationality.Only when we can deeply understand Whitehead’s viewpoint of philosophy can we really comprehend his process philosophy.
