On the Specific Characteristics of Higher Education in Tibetan Ethnic Areas

藏区高等教育对藏区社会经济文化发展及政治稳定至关重要。藏区高等教育在培养对象、服务区域、办学环境、教育管理等方面有其区别于内地高等教育的特殊性。重视和研究藏区高等教育的特殊性,是尊重藏区教育特点和规律的重要体现,是民族教育研究和实践上应有的科学态度,有重要的理论和现实意义。发展藏区高等教育应采取特殊策略。

Higher education in Tibetan ethnic areas plays an important role in maintaining its social economic devel- opment and political environment stability. Higher education here, which distinguishes from that in more developed places, has so many special aspects such as the cultivated objects, service area, school environment and administra- tion of education, etc. Thus, we should study and pay more attention to its characteristics. This is not only the em- bodiment of respecting the Tibetan area＇s educational law, but the due scientific altitude on researching and carry- ing out the ethnic education. This also shows us the important theory and realistic meaning to the future education. In a word, we must have special strategies to develop higher education in Tibetan ethnic area.
