The Ideology in News Discourse Pragmatic Presupposition Based on Nominalization

批评话语分析是一种以Halliday的系统功能语言学为主要理论依据的社会指向语篇分析方法,它主要关注语言与意识形态的关系。名词化,作为功能语法中语法隐喻方式之一,常被用于新闻语篇中。据此,本文以概念功能中的及物性为理论指导,以名词化语用预设为分析手段,分析美国《华盛顿邮报》关于"中日钓鱼岛"的政治新闻话语,旨在揭示美国对此问题的意识形态及立场,进而增强人们对语言所传递的意识形态的解读。

Critical discourse analysis is a social- directed method to analyze discourse, which mainly focuses on the relationship between language and ideology within the framework of Halliday＇s Systemic Functional Linguistics （SFL）. Nominalization, as a way to realize Grammatical Metaphor in SFL, is widely used in news discourse. Thus, with the theoretical underpinning of transitivity in ideational func- tion, pragmatic presupposition of nominalization is explained to analyze the political news discourse of ＂Diaoyu Island＂ from Washington Post. This paper aims to reveal American ideology implied in the news, and further enhance readers＇ understanding of ideology conveyed by language.
