Ways for Citizens to Have Faith in the Rule of Law

在一个法治国家,法律必须被国民信仰,且被国民信仰的法律只能是和必然是良法。在我国,要使国民信仰法律,信仰法治,必须通过政治、经济、文化和社会制度的改革,逐步形成和创设起使法律能够顺畅运行、公权力受到严密制约、违法行为受到有力制裁、社会正义得到有效维护、法治文化深入人心的法治国家机制。这种机制一旦形成,法治自然而然地就会成为国民的信仰。

In a rule-of-law country, citizens should have faith in laws that can only be and should inevitably be good laws. In China, the ways for citizens to have faith in laws and in the rule of law are reforms on political, economic, cultural and social systems to gradually form and establish a rule-of-law mechanism of the country, which makes sure laws are implemented smoothly, public power is closely restricted, illegal behavior gets heavily punished, social justice is efficiently maintained and rule-of-law culture is deep in the hearts of the people. Citizens will naturally have faith in the rule of law once the mechanism is formed.
