针刺持续效应是指停止针刺治疗后仍然继续存在的针刺效应。通过回顾大量的针刺临床与实验研究,提出针刺持续效应是客观存在的,但持续效应的存在时间可能与疾病的种类、疾病所处的时期、个体对针刺的反应、针刺的方式、针刺的间隔时间及总疗程时间等有关。因此,进一步深入系统地研究针刺治疗不同疾病的疗效起效点以及持续效应的存在规律,对提高和延长针刺的临床疗效具有重要科学意义和实用价值。
