奥斯丁文学思想的出发点肯定了现实生活的客观性,反对将生活和文学对立,认为艺术是生活的一部分。奥斯丁不是消极地摹写生活,而是认识生活、再现生活。奥斯丁文学思想提倡秩序、崇尚理性,主张用朴素的语言而不是华丽的语言来表达,用最少的词表达最丰富的意义,提出文学要反映现实的同时,又积极主张道德理性的重要性。在感伤主义和哥特式小说泛滥的时期,奥斯丁成功地实现了她的"真"、"模仿自然"、"理性"、"朴素"、"教化作用"等文学思想的实践。

The starting point of Austen’s thought of literature,which is against putting life in the opposite position of literature,affirms the objectivity of real life and believes that art is a part of life.Austin does not negatively write her real world,but recreates her life through her understanding.Austen’s thought of literature advocates order,rationality,using plain language instead of Gorgeous language to express,with the least amount of words to express the richest meaning,and the importance of moral reason in reflecting the reality.In the period of sentimentalism and gothic novels,Jane Austen successfully practiced her thought of literature,such as ＂truth＂,＂imitation of nature＂,＂sense＂,＂simplicity＂,＂enlightenment＂ and so on.
