The Human Stain is a masterpiece wrote by Philip Roth,an American contemporary jewish writer,at the end of the 19th century,it’s also the last one in his ＂American trilogy＂.The aim of the paper is to unscramble the human stain behind character multiple identity by analyzing the two leading character abandon their real indentity,to reveal the social crisis of contemporary America,and to express the hope of pursuing true self.
