Metaphor is used extensively in political discourses and political activities. Political metaphors can provide lines of thought for analyzing and solving political problems,thus directly or indirectly serving the needs of political parties and interest groups. Pragglejaz group's Metaphor Identification Procedure( MIP) and corpus approach enable us to count and classify metaphoric patterns in modern political discourses while parallel corpus tools enable us to uncover strategies for translating political metaphors into English.
