Filiations about Calling- oneself of the Yue People as the Ancestor of the Zhuang- Thai Group and Their Descendants

本文试图从自称的角度阐明今壮侗语族壮泰语支民族与上古越人的源流关系。今壮侗语族壮泰语支民族自称纷纭:布依族自称"布依";操壮语北部方言的大部分壮族则自称"布依"、"布雅依"、"布越衣"等;国内傣族自称曰"傣";国外泰族则自称为"泰"。之所以出现上述现象,是因为这些自称皆缘自上古越人自称近"于"之音,是经历了历史风雨之后各地区各民族群体语音发展变化的结果。国内的"傣"自称为"dai2",国外的"泰"自称为"thai4",两者之间的歧异,是语音清、浊变化所致。

In this article, the author tries to expound the filiation＇ s relationship between current ethnic groups of the Zhuang - Thai branch of Zhuang - Dong group and the Yue people in ancient times from the perspective of calling - oneself. The calling - oneselves of current ethnic groups of the Zhuang - Thai branch of Zhuang- Dong group are diverse and confused： the Buyi people call themselves ＂Buyi＂, and most Zhuang people speaking the northern dialect of the Zhuang language call themselves ＂Buyi＂, ＂Buyayi＂ or ＂Buyueyi＂ ; the internal Dai people call themselves ＂Dai＂, and the external Thai people call themselves ＂Thai＂. The emergence of these phenomena is because these calling -oneself all came from the pronuncia- tion of the calling - oneself of the Yue people in ancient times, and they are all similar with the pronunciation of ＂yu＂ ; and is the result of the development and change of the voice of Zhuang - dong ethnic groups in the long history. The internal ＂Dai＂ call themselves ＂dai2＂, and the external ＂Thai＂ call themselves ＂thai4＂, the difference between them is because of the clear or turbidity voice.
