Objective To study the anxiety of divers in high altitude regions. Methods The Zung selfevaluation anxiety scale (SAS)was used to investigate the anxiety of divers in different high altitude diving. Results When compared with the norm, statistical significance was marked in the anxiety of divers during high altitude diving( P〈0.01). However, no statistical significance could be noted in the anxiety of divers after diving and during their stay at high altitude regions (P〉0.05). Conclusion Divers dis- played a mode of obvious anxiety, when they stayed and conducted diving at high altitudes. Efforts should be made to improve the ambient environment during their stay at high altitudes, intensify acclimatization training, and give psychological guide, so that divers would be more acclimatized to high altitude regions.
