Cross-cultural Analysis in Management

现代管理理论的渊源实际上是来自于以美国为首的西方社会 ,因而西方文化对其理论的形成和发展有决定性的影响。但是 ,当代管理理论的发展受到来自于不同文化背景的挑战也是不争的事实 ,因而吸收东方文化来修正、发展、丰富和创新当代管理理论无疑是促进管理学理论发展的一个有效途径。为此 ,有必要从管理哲学、战略管理和管理实践三个层面对东西方文化作比较分析 ,进而探讨两种文化本质特征与管理理论及管理实践之间的关系。

Modern management theories, originating from Western countries especially the U S ,are inevitably subject to the cultural influences of these countries. However, Western management theories may fail to work occasionally in different cultural background. Therefore, an effective way to revise, promote, and revive Western management theories can be found in the absorption of the Eastern methods. It is necessary to make comparative analysis between Eastern and Western cultures concerning the domains of managerial philosophy, strategic management and managerial practices. Meanwhile, the relationship between management and culture must be solved reasonably.
