The cultures (including the festivals ) of the Hani-Akha people, who are scattering in the mountainous region of China, Laos, Thailand, Burma and Vietnam, have not been little known in the world for a long term, due to their being alienated from national political centers. Moreover, as a whole, their traditional festival cultures fall in crisis today under the impact of modern production life style and the profound changes in their social structure. Meanwhile, the advancement of the Hani-Akha people also presents a possibility of continuity and transformation for the traditional festival cultures. Whether such cultures could survive, pass on and get innovated largely depends on their political status in each country. Therefore, the country plays a significant role in the development of cultural diversity.
