Discussion and Elaboration of CHEN Dangwu's Academic Experience

清代医家陈当务,撰著《证治要义》,纵论辨证之精要,阐发论治之微义。陈当务躬身实践,博采众长,治学严谨。他注重对仲景学说的传承和运用,主张辨证施治,善于变通;擅长内病外治和饮食疗法,在温病、妇科、儿科、外科、急救等证治方面积有丰富经验,切合临床实用。

CHEN Dangwu, a doctor in Qing dynasty,is the author of Zhengzhiyaoyi （ Synopsis of Treatment Based on Syndrome Differentiation）. He explained the essence of treatment based on syndrome differentiation. CHEN Dangwu paid attentions to practice,learned from others＇adv - antages, and hold a rigorous attitude towards academics. He emphasized on the heritage and appliance of Zhong - jing doctrine, advocated treating patients with syndrome differentiation. He was also flexible and good at curing internal disease with external treatment and food therapy. He had extensive experience in the treatment of warm diseases, gynecology, paediatrics, surgery, first aid and so on, which were very useful in clinical applica- tion.
