The structure and properties of jadeite, nephrite and Liuli （colored glaze）are reviewed. Jadeite has higher density and hardness ; the surface of nephrite emerges greasy luster, while Liuli （ colored glaze） manufactured by the lost wax casting method often remains small bubbles. These differences provide the methods which are commonly used for identification of jadeite, nephrite and Liuli.
