In T. S. Eliot＇ s early representative poem ＂The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock＂, ＂time＂ is not only the narrative technique adopted for manifesting the theme, but also the thematic content of the poem. Through Prufrock＇ s interior monologue and the employment of the ＂theme of time＂, Eliot reveals to us the protagonist＇ s psychological world with the flow of his consciousness, thus, bringing to light the psyche of the ＂modem man＂ in predicament represented by Prufrock.
