The novel ＂ Moutain in the South and water in the North＂ told the story of women marriage life in countryside in China. Some of country women cast off the family fetter in their marriage life but losing the dignity as a women . The novel on one hand highly praise good country life , hut on the other hand expressed the sorrowful feelings for the confusion of value and the esthet- ics of women in the countryside areas.
