汉日同形异义词——“气味”小考

A Comparative Study of "气味" in Chinese and Japanese

现代汉语和现代日语均使用"气味"一词,然而二者在词义、用法甚至感情色彩方面都存在着很大的不同,尤其在词义方面,现代汉语的"气味"和现代日语的"気味"已无相同之处。根据词汇史研究方法考察古日语文献,则发现内中含有大量与古汉语"气味"词义相同的"気味"使用例句。随着语言本身的演变和发展,汉语的"气味"和日语的"気味"都衍生出新的含义,从而造成今日二者之间的不同。

We can find the phrase ＂气味＂ in both Chinese and Japanese, but its meaning, usage and connotation differ greatly. In modern Chinese it holds almost no resemblance to＂気＂ in modem Japanese. But in ancient Japanese, sentences with＂気味＂ mean- ing the same as＂气味＂ in ancient Chinese are no isolated examples. With the evolution and development of language itself, new mean- ings of the phrase have been derived in both languages.
