Objective To investigate the relationship between serum homocysteine(Hcy) level and cerebral arterial thrombosis in order to provide an effective basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment. Methods The Hcy level of 151 inpatients with cerebral apoplexy(the observation group) in neurology department of the people's hospital of Xing'an league during November 2011 to June 2013 and 153 healthy examined people during the same period(the control group) were detected and analyzed by applying epidemiological case-control and confirmed cases study program and circulatory enzyme method. The Hcy level of the two groups was compared, and the relationship between Hcy level and incidence of cerebral apoplexy was analyzed. Results The serum Hcy level in the observation group(24.2 ± 17.7) μ mol/L was significantly more than that in the control group(13.4 ± 3.44)μ mol/L, and the difference was statistically significant(P 〈 0.01). The serum Hcy level more than 20μmol/1 was as the standard of high Hcy,the incidence of cerebral apoplexy in the observation group was 33.1%, the incidence of cerebral apoplexy in the control group was 0, and the difference was statistically significant(P 〈 0.01). Conclusion The high serum Hcy level and incidence of cerebral apoplexy has correlation, the determination of Hey level has guidance on clinical diagnosis and treatment, thus actively promoting the Hcy determination can effectively reduce the incidence of disease, and has positive clinical Significance on the prevention of cerebral apoplexy.
