司马迁合传屈贾的原因既是屈原与贾谊的超前的政治家身份,同时又是敢于犯言直谏的有良知的辞赋家或作家身份,屈贾以辞赋为武器,将超前的政治进行到底,体现了人类的良知。司马迁合传屈贾客观上也反映了在大一统形势下、在君权无限的重压之下知识分子的生存困境和生存悲哀,谴责和鞭挞了秦汉确立的大一统君主独裁政治。硬说司马迁是有意略写屈贾政治生涯是与《史记·屈原贾生列传》的实际内容不相符合的。
