The voice of China by students from Shaanxi and Gansu provinces——Progressive Publications founded by Chinese students from Shaanxi and Gansu provinces studying in Japan

清朝末年,陕甘留日学生创办的报刊,揭露列强侵华图谋,剖析陕甘社会危机,鞭挞国民弱点,为关陇之人敲响警钟。身处异国他乡的陕甘爱国学子,通过报刊杂志与深陷绝境的同胞们携手作战,以刊为阵地,以文为号角,为国民吹响救亡图存的集结号和改革变法的冲锋号,与垂死挣扎的清朝政府和虎视眈眈的外国列强展开了一场又一场没有硝烟的战争。

At the end of Qing Dynasty, the Chinese students, who were from Shaanxi and Gansu provinces and studied in Japan then, created their own newspapers. The newspapers were published to expose the western countries＇ invasion into China and the crisis the Chinese were suffering. In doing so, the patriotic students hoped the Chinese people to be able to see their own weak- ness and thus wake up to get prepared. These students, though far away from home, were fighting together with their fellows through speeches and articles. Calling for the unity of the Chinese people and the revolution of the nation, these students started a battle without gun smoke with the dying Qing monarchy and the aggressors.
