This essay is based on the prefaces and postscripts of Strategies of the Warring States in the past dynasties. Various prefaces and postscripts are analyzed in the diachronic environment in a linear way. The essay focuses on studying the artistical quality and historical value of the literary documents. It also points out the auxiliary functions of prefaces and postscripts in the analysis of Strategies of the Warring States, which include study and comparison among different versions, communication and acceptance and textual analysis as well.
