本文介绍了基于内容的多媒体信息检索的一般体系结构、基于内容检索的处理过程,并以VIMS(视觉信息管理系统系统)为例介绍特征相似性匹配的一般方法和多媒体信息检索技术的发展方向。

This paper introduces the general architecture of content-based multimedia information retrieval, content-based retrieval process. Using the VIMS （Vision Information Management System） as an example, it introduces the general characteristics of similarity match methods and the development direction of multimedia information retrieval technology.
