The objective of this work was to determine the seroprevalence of pseudorabies from finishing pigs in Sichuan and Chongqing. A total of 1,110 serum samples were obtained from 14 counties/districts with different topographic conditions and different breed styles. All the serum samples were tested for pseudorabies antibodies by PRV-IgG-ELISA(enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay)kit. Antibodies to pseud-orabies virus were detected in 201 (18.81%) of the 1 110 finishing pig sera, accounting for 17. 61G(125/710)and 19.00 G (76/400)of the total in Sichuan and Chongqing, respectively, thus indicating the presence of pseudorabies in pigs in some regions of Sichuan and Chongqing. A case-control study was carried out to identify herd level risk factors for antibodies to Aujeszky's disease virus(ADV)in finishing pigs in these areas. There was no significant association between the geographical location (mountain and hill areas) and seroprevalence of porcine pseudorabies (OR= 1.14, 95% CI=0.77-1.68;OR= 1.07, 95% CI=0.48-2.37 in Sichuan, and OR= 1.29, 95% CI=0.57-2.94 in Chongqing) and between breed style and seroprevalence (OR= 1. 15, 95G CI=0.84-1.57 and OR=1. 14, 950//00 CI=0.75-1.74 in Sichuan;and OR=1. 09, 95% CI= 0.13-9.32 in Chongqing). The risk factor analysis indicated that breed types and geographical location were non-significantly associated with seroprevalence in Sichuan and Chongqing (P〉0.05).
