Taking ductile iron pipe flanges by welding as an example, the type test requirements and test methods of the sealing and mechanical stress for fange joints in Chinese national standards, international standards and British standard were compared and analyzed. Selecting reasonable trial combination, simplitS, ing test process, further standardizing materials and tools needed in type testing can lay the lbundation for successful passing type-testing of flange pipe products.
