文章记录了华南植物园内采集到的蝶类９科、７４属、１０９种。其中凤蝶科有１５种，粉蝶科有１０种，斑蝶科有７种，环蝶科有２种，眼蝶科有９种，蛱蝶科有３５种，蚬蝶科有２种，灰蝶科有１１种，弄蝶科有１８种。文中还对各种蝴蝶的寄主作了记录。
The paper introduced the butterflies collected in the South China Botanical Garden. There are 9 families, 74 genera and 109 species totally. Among them, there are 5 genera and 15 species of Papilionidae, 7 genera and 10 species of Pieridae, 5 genera and 7 species of Danaidae, 2 genera and 2 species of Amathusdae, 6 genera and 9 species of Satyridae, 21 genera and 35 species of Nymphalidae, 2 genera and 2 species of Riodinidae, 11 genera and 11 species of Lycaeniclae, 15 genera and 18 species of Hesperiidae. The host plants of these species are introduced in the paper too.
