Abstract To introduce fastener bolt quenching and tempering microstrueture and evaluation standard. The usual pattern feature cause of quenching and tempering defects structure and heat treatment quenching defect structure are explained. In actual production application, fastener finished product quality can be decided, each defect distribution condition and prop- erty can be identified by metallographic inspection. The reason of defects production and influence of eve~＂ process factol.＇s on quality are analyzed, which provide basis for process improvement.
