The paper reviews the development and the change of name of the American Kinesiology Committee, the most reputable sports academic committee in U.S. and introduces the formation, development, change of names, recognition and structure and connotation of the knowledge system of the sport descipline in U.S.. The paper also analyses 90 years of development of the sport descipline in U.S. from Physical Education to Kinisiology.
