On Regional Culture in Zhao Benfu's Novels from Language Perspective

赵本夫在江苏丰县生活了将近40年,他的作品多以自己生活过的土地为创作背景,内容以四省交界的乡土文化、乡土生活为主,时常把那片土地上的风俗文化作为写作对象,小说中大量方言词的运用,形象地展示了当地人的饮食文化、商业文化、精神文化及风俗文化,同时也有意识地将乡风民俗作为文学的审美对象,使其作品呈现出浓烈的地域文化色彩。

Zhao Benfu lives in Fengxian County of Jiangsu for nearly 40 years and many of his works are re-lated to the land and the local culture of the juncture of four provinces. The regional culture and the local dialect in the novels vividly display the local diet culture, business culture, spiritual culture and folk cul-ture. He consciously makes the local customs as the aesthetic object, which makes his works both regional and cultural.
