On Russian Mass Literature in Soviet Context

作为苏联文学的有机组成部分,大众文学经历了坎坷的历史命运。苏联文化政策的高度政治化导致了"苏维埃大众文学"的出现,后者将大众文学的教育功能和意识形态功能发挥到极致。文化工业的官方性使苏维埃大众文学耗尽了体裁审美潜能,最终陷入了发展的困境。

As an organic component of Soviet literature, the mass literature went through a bumpy historical fate. The high politicization of Soviet cultural policy brought about so-called ＂Soviet mass literature＂, which took educa-tional function and ideological function to extremes. The official character of Soviet cultural industry exhausted aes-thetic potentials of mass literature, as a result, the Soviet mass literature reached a dead end.
