Objective To explore the ankle invertor and evertor characteristics of unilateral functional ankle in- stabilit. Methods 15 males subjects with unilateral functional ankle instability were enrolled in the study, and other 15 healthy matched-paired subjects were served as controls. The ankle invertor and evertor were measured using CON-TREX multi-joint isokinetic strength testing system. The independent samples t-test was used to compare the differences between two groups, the inspection level for α= 0.05. Result Whether it is in the contraction mode, or eccentric contraction mode, there were significant differences between the experimental group and the control group in ankle eversion and inversion of relative peak torque of muscle strength. While in the ankle invertor and evertor peak torque ratios comparison between the two groups, the differences are not significant. Conclusion: Whether it is in the contraction motion, or eccentric contraction motion, functional ankle instability is serious weaker than normal people in the injured foot of ankle invertor and evertor comparing, the reason may be related to the ankle instability caused by ankle injury.
