摘要
教材评估是特殊用途英语(ESP)研究中的重要组成部分。ESP教材没有绝对的好坏之分,其评估过程必须将具体课程、教师和学生考虑在内。本文结合浙江某高校本科英语专业三年级的国际商务英语课程,利用Hutchinson和Waters提出的教材评估模式,从教材受众、课程目标、教材内容和教学方法等角度对《国际商务英语阅读》教材进行评估,并对该教材的不足之处提出了一些建议。
ESP materials evaluation is by no means an evaluation of the material itself, but its relative merits for a specific course, along with its teachers and learners. Based on the materials evaluation model proposed by Hutchinson and Waters, this thesis makes a detailed evaluation of the textbook English Reading for International Business (2006) in terms of its alldience, aims, content and methodology. By doing so, this thesis investigates the degrees of fitness of this textbook for the ESP course English for International Business. Finally some proposals are put forward for the further improvement of the textbook.
