《左传》“外史”考辨

A Textual Research of “Wai Shi” in “Zuo Zhuan”

《左传》"外史"一职,其说有三:一是与"内史"相对,诸侯史官之"外史";二是"外史"即《周礼》之"外史";三是言史官身居在外。这三种看法,并不合于春秋实际,"外史"即《左传》之"史",言外者实是与卿大夫"家史"相对应。

There were three points of the＂ Wai Shi＂ in ＂Zuo Zhuan＂ ： one was the opposite to＂ Jia shi＂, the feudal princes＇ Wai Shi. The second point was the＂ Wai Shi＂ in＂ Zhou Li＂. The third point was the history Official who lived in abroad. These three views were not fit with the period of＂ Chun Qiu＂ ,＂ Wai Shi＂ was the＂ Shi＂ in ＂Zuo Zhuan＂, corresponding with ＂Jia Shi＂ of the bureaucrats.
