The Rites of Passage: Study on the Funeral Ritual of the Yi Nationality——A Case Study of Jiangdi in Pan County

彝族丧葬习俗历史久远,特色鲜明。前人对彝族丧仪的研究多局限于四川凉山地区,且多以描述为主。"过渡礼仪"理论认为,丧葬活动是一种仪礼或仪式。贵州盘县蒋底村彝族丧葬活动具有明显的仪式性特征,从仪礼或仪式视角对其进行研究,为分析彝族丧葬活动的结构及其意义、功能提供了新的途径。

As an important part of life ritual, funeral ritual is a vital social activity and cultural practice in Yi Nationality. The funeral rituals in Yi have a long history with special characteristics. The studies on the funeral ritual in Yi were limited in Liangshan, and most of them were mainly on description. The theories of the rites of passage believed the funeral rituals were kinds of rites. The funeral rituals in Jiangdi in Pan County are significant rituality, and from the ritual perspective, the researches on it provide new ways to analyses the structure, significance and function of the funeral rituals in Yi.
