林路先生早年求学于武昌艺术专科学校。后考入国立上海音乐专科学校,师从黄自先生学习作曲。20世纪30年代加入了中国共产党,并曾在郭沫若任厅长的国共合作军事委员会政治部第三厅工作。解放后历任武昌中原大学文艺学院音乐系主任、中南音专教务主任与副校长、湖北艺术学院院长、湖北省文联副主席、湖北省音乐家协会主席、名誉主席等职。他不仅是武汉音乐学院办学历史中的卓越领导者,也是我国近现代音乐历史的亲历者。文章的作者阐释了林路先生音乐生活的心路历程。

Mr, Lin Lu studied in Wuchang Art Specialized Institute in his early years. Later admitted to the Shanghai National Conservatory of Music, studying composition from Huang Zi. Lin Lu joined the Com- munist Party of China in 1930s, and has worked in the 3rd Department in the Political Section of the National Governmental Military Commission, in charged by Guo Moruo （1892-1978）. After 1949, Lin Lu had served successively as director of Music Department in Art School of Zhongyuan College, dean of education and depu- ty president of Music Academy in Central-South China, the president of Hubei Art Institute, vice president of Hubei Province Federation of Literary and Art Circles, President of Hubei Musicians Association, Honorary President of Hubei Musicians Association. Lin was not only a distinguished leader in the history of running Wuhan Conservatory of Music, but also one experience personally in the Chinese modern music history. The author illustrated Lin Lu music journey of life.
