After his stunning rendition of Don Giovanni,Ivan Fischer tried his hand again at directing with Le Nozze di Figaro,which was presented at the Mostly Mozart Festival.While not as original as his Giovanni,this is a refreshing Figaro,sparklingly played and dehciously sung and acted.Figaro is an ensemble piece,and Fischer has gathered a team of singers who can act out his intention of bringing theater and music closer to a 'new natural harmony.' The opera stage is the richer for it.
