认识徐奇,是一种水到渠成。观赏歌剧,最引人注目的,自然是戏中的主角。近十多年来,上海歌剧舞台上的一位＂常任配角＂却引起了我的注目,他就是上海歌剧院的国家一级演员、男低音歌唱家徐奇。已记不清看过他多少次的舞台演唱了,这些年只要上海歌剧院上演歌剧,或在上海舞台上演中外合作的歌剧,其中经常会有徐奇,有时他甚至在一出戏中分别饰演几个角色,俨然是配角中的＂主角＂。他演唱的角色虽然才短短的几句唱词。

In the recent decade,a 'regular supporting actor' on Shanghai's opera stages has caught critic Ren Haijie's attention.He is Xu Qi,a national first-class artist at the Shanghai Opera House.Whenever the Shanghai Opera House stages an opera or an international co-production takes place,Xu Qi is almost always there.Sometimes,he even plays several characters in an opera.He is a veritable 'leading' actor in the supporting roles.
