摘要
就道霈的佛学体系而言,他的华严学思想并非体现于大部头著作如《华严经疏论纂要》等作品内,而是融入其禅学,展现于禅教观、净土观之中。道霈的禅法修行,一改乃师元贤主张,重视顿悟渐修;在经教方面,道霈重视华严五教判相,推崇华严圆顿大旨,其佛学思想深受华严性起说影响;在净土修行方面,道霈倡导普贤行愿,念佛诵经(特别推崇诵《华严经》),导归极乐,表现出与天台宗部分教义的疏离,可见华严学在道霈佛学体系中具有举足轻重的地位。
Taken as a whole, Daopei's Huayan thoughm in his Buddhist system is not reflected in the epic works such as Outline of the Exegeses of Huayan Sutra. Instead, it is integrated into his theory of Chan Buddhism and displayecl in his views on Chan teachings and Pure Land Buddhism. In terms of Chan meditation practice, Daopei's view differs from that of his teacher, Yuanxian, and emphasizes sudden enlightenment and gradual practice. As for scriptures, Daopei values Huayan's classification of five Buddhist sects and canonizes Huayan ultimate doctrines, deeply influenced by Huayan's Buddha nature- generating theory. In the matter of Pure Land practice, Daopei advocates Samantabhadra's practice and aspiration, and pray- ing to Buddha and chanting sutras (particularly Huayan Sutra) in order to reach Western Paradise. It can be seen that Daopei's thought detaches itself party from part of Tiantai's teachings and attaches much importance to Huayan's.
