In environmental forecasting standards, the error indices are not only important indicators for the precision evaluation of the forecasting scheme, but also parameters for the accuracy and stability of the forecasting system evaluated by the system developers and users. A variety of forecast error indices in environmental forecasting standards statistics were summarized, and classified according to different forecast objects, which would provide a reference for forecast error indices selection and precision evaluation in wave forecast standards and other forecast standards of the marine forecast.
