The Anglo - German Naval Agreement was signed between the United Kingdom and German and was renounced by Adolf Hider. In the four years when the agreement was implemented, Germany had benefited from the agreement and expanded its submarine forces, laying a foundation for launching U - boat war in World War II. By signing the Anglo - German Naval Agreement, the United Kingdom intended to control the expansion of German Navy; however, the UK did not realize submarine's great potential and did not limit the development of German submarines. The UK also neglected the use of setting war rules to limit the U - boat. These defects provided Germany with opportunities to expand German Navy and submarines in particular.
